WHAT I’M DOING TO HELP OUR PLANET
As a small business, I am aware of the impact my work has on the planet, and I am dedicated to making changes to support our environment where I can. Here’s what I’m doing:
I work with U.K. based companies with a good environmental ethos, to produce my printed products.
I am choosing recycled paper products where possible for all my printed items (greetings cards, prints etc) and for my business stationery.
Packaging
Recycled Postal Packaging: As well as using mostly cardboard envelopes or boxes to post out your artwork (which can be recycled or reused by the customer), I often use pre-used cardboard, such as old Amazon boxes and bubble wrap.
Parcel Tape: I am now using paper tapes on all my wrapping and postal packaging.
Bubble Wrap: I have sourced a new bubble wrap that is made from recycled plastic and can be re-used, but I’m still searching for something that is more planet friendly and which offers the same level of protection for sending out fragile items in the post.
Shredded Paper: I use shredded paper to pack more fragile items such as my clay cottages.
Packaging Peanuts: These look a little like polystyrene but are are usually made from potato starch, and can be dissolved away in water. These are used to pack fragile items such as ceramic decorations.
Greeting Card Packaging: I am currently using easy peel card catch stickers to keep my cards and envelopes together. I occasionally use compostable cellophane envelopes (made from potato starch).
